Covy has developed a comprehensive range with each product refined through real-world testing at international competitions. Our products have been developed with performance at their core, with every design choice based on athletes feedback. Covy achieved our first major international medal with Rob and Seán claiming a silver medal in the 49er class at the French Olympic Week in Hyères.
As official kit supplier to both Irish Sailing and the Northern Ireland Sailing Team Covy is cemented at the centre of Ireland’s high-performance sailing ecosystem.
49er
Robert Dickson & Seán Waddilove
Rob & Seán compete in the 49er Class for Team Ireland. They have competed at 2 Olympic Games, finishing 4th at the Paris Olympics in 2024. They notably picked up a silver medal at the French Olympic Week.
Rob and Seán bring world-class insight and performance testing to the development of Covy’s high-performance sailing gear. They have built a reputation for speed, technical precision and determination on the international stage and have been instrumental in the development of our products.
ILCA
Ewan McMahon
Ewan McMahon is one of Ireland’s top sailors competing in the ILCA (Laser) class. Ewan has consistently performed at the highest level of international competition, highlighted by 9th at the 2025 ILCA 7 Europeans Championships, 10th at the 2025 ILCA 7 French Grand Slam and an invitation to the Top 10 World Sailing Grand Slam Finals 2025.
These results established him as one of the most promising sailors in the Olympic ILCA fleet. Ewan has been heavily involved in the development and testing of our new Hikers. Welcome to the team Ewan

Erin McIlwaine & Ellen Barbour
Erin McIlwaine and Ellen Barbour are among Ireland’s most exciting emerging talents in Olympic sailing, picking up a Bronze medal at the 2025 U23 49erFX World Championships and a top 7 at the French Olympic Week.
Erin and Ellen play an important role in helping test and develop Covy’s range of high-performance sailing gear and their involvement also reflects Covy’s commitment to supporting Irish athletes as they develop toward future Olympic campaigns.
ILCA
James Juhasz
James Juhasz is Canada’s leading ILCA sailor and has built a strong reputation through consistent results at major international regattas including a silver at the ILCA North American Championships and winning the Canadian Championship.
James plays an important role in helping test and refine our high-performance Hikers.
Waszp
Elysia O'Leary
Elysia has multiple Irish Waszp championships as well as winning 1st Female at Bermuda Sail Gp Inspire. She was part of the Irish sailing 49er FX squad for 2 years and competed at the Junior Worlds in 2023.
